Each morning when you arise after spending a night in our cozy and comfortable Pennsylvania bed and breakfast inn, you will be treated to a deliciously hearty breakfast with comfort foods of a wide variety. Use the following recipes to get a taste of the country cooking you will enjoy as a guest of The Berry Patch B&B.
Strawberry Stuffed French Toast
- 4 Thick slices of bakery style bread
- Strawberry Jam
- Cream Cheese - Softened
- 6 eggs
- 1/2 Tablespoon Vanilla
On two slices of bread spread a thick layer of cream cheese. On the other two slices of bread spread a thick layer of jam. Make a cream cheese and jam sandwich. Beat 6 eggs and vanilla. Dip each sandwich in the batter. Place on medium setting on greased frying pan and cook until browed evenly on both sides. Cut into triangle pieces and heavily sprinkle with powdered sugar, Top with freshly sliced strawberries.
Strawberry Bread
- 3 1/4 Cups flour
- 1 3/4 Cups sugar
- 1/2 Teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 Teaspoon salt
- 1 Teaspoon baking soda
- 3 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 Cup plus 2 Tablespoons oil
- 2 Ten(10) ounce packages sliced frozen strawberries and juice
- 1 1/4 Cups chopped walnuts (optional)
Mix first 5 ingredients in a large bowl. Add liquid ingredients and blend well. Do not use a mixer. Pour into 2 greased and floured loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes
Party Dip
Soften cream cheese, mix in Mild or Hot Berry Patch Grillin' Sauce to taste. Great Party dip for chips, pretzels, or crackers.
Berry Patch Hot Wings
You can bake your wings in the oven or deep fry them to your liking. After wings are done put a lot of Hot or Mild Grillin' Sauce on them.
"Patch-Style" Chicken Breasts
- 2 to 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 to 1 bottle Strawberry Patch Salad Dressing
- 1 Can Ocean Spray Whole Berry Cranberry Sauce
- 1 packet dry onion soup mix
Heat oven to 350 degrees
Place chicken breasts in baking dish and add salad dressing, cranberry sauce and dry onion soup mix. Bake for approximately 1 1 1/2 hours.
Grilled Swordfish
- 3 tablespoon Berry Patch Avery Hot Grillin' Sauce
- 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard
- Pinch of Parsley flakes
- 4 nice pieces of Swordfish 3/4 inch thick
Mix Berry Patch Hot Grillin' Sauce, Mayonnaise, mustard, lemon juice, parsley flakes together; then brush generously on one side of steaks with sauce and place on well oiled rack sauce side down. Grill about 2 minutes then brush top of fish with remaining sauce. Turn fish over and grill the other side, basting and turning every 2 minutes each tim until done. About 10 minutes.
